Aiming to develop a financing programme adapted to the needs of civil society, the Embassy of Norway in Belgrade is organizing work meetings with civil society representatives in Niš, Novi Sad and Podgorica.
The contribution of civil society organizations participating in these consultative meetings will be used to develop a new programme for strengthening civil society in Serbia and Montenegro, to be initiated during the first quarter of 2015.
The meetings will serve as an opportunity to consider those areas and activities where institutional support by the Embassy can make a greater effect, as well as to consider the best practices and proposals for engagement in priority areas supported by the Embassy. Such areas include: rule of law, good administration and combating corruption; reform of the security sector; establishing peace, reconciliation, human and minority rights, vulnerable groups and gender issues; economic development and entrepreneurship; energy, environment and climate issues.
During the work meetings, representatives of the project section of the Embassy will hold an informative session regarding current support programmes.
