Tim za socijalno uključivanje i smanjenje siromaštva - SIPRU - logoThe Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia is publishing a public call for providing mentoring and advisory support in the preparation of project proposals for the call “Support to Local Gender Equality Mechanisms” published by the European PROGRES, the largest development programme in Serbia, with its implementation financially supported by the European Union and the Government of Switzerland in partnership with the Government of Serbia.

The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia wishes to provide mentoring and advisory support to local self-governments and local gender equality mechanisms (with seats in 34 local self-governments in the south-east and south-west of Serbia involved in the implementation of European PROGRES), in preparing project proposals for the call “Support to Local Gender Equality Mechanisms”. Information on the call requirements is available at the European PROGRES website. The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia recognized this call as an extremely significant opportunity to improve and highlight the significance of gender equality in local self-governments in the Republic of Serbia.

Advisory support by the Unit involves providing comments and proposals for amendments of prepared project proposals, as well as guiding project ideas towards the most efficient and effective impact on the beneficiaries.

Local self-governments, and/or local gender equality mechanisms from the 34 municipalities in the south-east and south-west of Serbia may forward their project proposals to the Unit at the latest by Monday, 3 October 2016, by the end of the day. Applications will be considered if the following documents are provided:

  • Project proposal, completed on the relevant application form, a completed budget proposal form, and a completed work schedule form. Note: project proposals shall be submitted in the Serbian language and satisfy all the required formal criteria of the European PROGRES call;
  • Copy of a decision on forming the local gender equality mechanisms in force and adopted by the competent bodies;
  • Copy of the local gender equality action plan in force and adopted by the competent bodies.

Applications not compliant with the above conditions will not be considered for the provision of mentoring and advisory support. The Unit will attempt to provide advisory support to all those who submit project proposals, and at the least for the first 20 municipalities – local gender equality mechanisms to submit the above documentation.

The envisaged Unit schedule in providing advisory and mentoring support:

  • Interested local self-governments and/or local gender equality mechanisms compliant with the above criteria should send the applications and relevant documentation at the latest by Monday 3 October 2016 by e-mail to: irena.latinovic@gov.rs,
  • The Unit will notify the applicants whether they meet all the conditions for providing advisory and mentoring support and whether they are among the first 20 municipalities to be provided support by 5 October 2016,
  • The Unit will submit comments and suggestions to the project proposals at the latest by 7 October 2016,
  • The candidates will notify the Unit on the adopted comments/suggestions with explanations if they do not wish to accept certain suggestions by the Unit at the latest by 9 October 2016.

Additional information or clarifications available by e-mail: irena.latinovic@gov.rs.
