The Meeting on the Action Plan for more Efficient Integration of the Roma Held

apThe inclusion of the Roma men and women, better education, healthcare and employment as well as adequate housing conditions are the main goals of the Government Strategy for Social Inclusion of the Roma Men and Women in the Republic of Serbia for the period from 2016 to 2025.

These are the main conclusions of the meetings, chaired, in the name of the Vice President of the Government Prof Dr Zorana Mihajlović, by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure, Miodrag Poledica. As agreed in the meeting, the expert Working group will be established in the first phase in order to harmonize the text of the Action Plan and the adopted Strategy for Social Inclusion of the Roma Men and Women.

As the Government has decided, the Vice President Prof Dr Zorana Mihajlović coordinates the activities of the state institutions directed towards the efficient implementation of the social inclusion of the Roma men and women which will be provided by the implementation of the Action Plan.

The Action Plan for the Implementation of the Adopted Strategy for Social Inclusion of the Roma Men and Women in the Republic of Serbia for the period from 2016 to 2025 should clearly define activities, deadlines, financial sources as well as the authorities of relevant institutions which will participate in the implementation of the Strategy. This will provide institutional capacities with the aim of improving the lives of the Roma men and women in the Republic of Serbia.

The meeting was attended by: Nenad Ivanišević, the State Secretary in the Ministry for Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy, Suzana Paunović, the Director of the Office for Human and Minorities’ Rights, Ivan Sekulović, the Manager of the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Orhan Usein, the Leader of the Action Team for Inclusion of the Roma of the Regional Cooperation Council.
