Published 13.06.2015.

Prijatelji dece Srbije - logoThe association Friends of the Children of Serbia issued a call for the inclusion of volunteers in the implementation of the project “Support to Psychosocial Development of Children in Institutional Housing, on the Road to Deinstitutionalization”, aimed at promoting direct work with children in practice of the association for the decentralization and deinstitutionalization of child services. This is the continuation of the successful project from 2014, with an extended number of beneficiaries and institutions.

Priority in the selection of the volunteer team will be given to students of pedagogy, psychology, special education, the Teachers’ Faculty and social work. Applications are by way of an online form accessible here.

Applications are open until 25 June 2015.

About the project: Friends of the Children of Serbia, in association with the Club of the Students of Pedagogy, the Home for Children Without Parental Care “Dragutin Filipović – Jusa” and the Children’s Shelter, Belgrade, are organizing and implementing the project “Support to Psychosocial Development of Children in Institutional Housing, on the Road to Deinstitutionalization” between May and December 2015. The project is implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs.

The implementation of the project should contribute to creating an atmosphere in society where it is a completely normal practice where associations provide services for children, without the public sector being the only one to engage in this, aiming to alleviate the burden for the state, and make the services better, more diverse, and adapted to the individual needs of the beneficiaries.
