Municipality of Zvezdara citizens have got the first Citizens’ Budget in Belgrade – a citizens’ guide to the budget, explaining in simple terms how funds are managed at the local level. The Citizens’ Budget has been posted on the Municipality’s web site in order that citizens could monitor budget expenditures and be aware of the planned investments.

The first formally adopted Citizens’ Budget in Belgrade was developed in collaboration with CRTA (Centre for Research, Transparency and Accountability) as part of the Map the Money! initiative. The Map the Money! initiative is a pilot project including monitoring local budgets in 10 cities and municipalities. Previously, a citizens’ budget had been adopted only by the Municipality of Prijepolje.
