As underlined during a presentation held in Belgrade, the project “Partners for Education” is attracting the interest of ever more parents and teachers, while the National Parent-Teacher Association will be established towards the end of March, with the aim to develop policies for further improvement of the quality of education. The event presented the work of parent-teacher school clubs founded in 54 schools in 11 towns across Serbia in order to enhance the parent-teacher-school cooperation, which has often been identified as a hindrance in the efforts to ensure high-quality education.
Thus far, the interested parents and teachers have launched initiatives at the school level for enhancing the conditions in which educational activities take place, as well as for initiating programmes that contribute to the raised quality of the educational process. Key issues addressed by parents and teachers in partnership have included: more efficient prevention of peer violence, promotion of tolerance and responsible action, creativity development, raising the level of safety at schools and introduction of interactive and multidisciplinary teaching.
“Partners for Education” is supported by the Open Society Foundation and UNICEF.
