The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit (SIPRU) of the Government of the Republic of Serbia was established by the Government of the Republic of Serbia in 2009. Since its establishment, the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit has been positioned in the centre of the Government and, since 2018, it has operated within the Office of the Prime Minister.
SIPRU’s primary mandate is to strengthen the Government’s capacities to develop evidence-based social inclusion policies, as well as to coordinate and monitor their implementation in line with the international standards and good practices in Europe.
SIPRU facilitates the building of capacities and processes towards a more effective development and implementation of social inclusion policies in all public administration bodies, with a view to enabling the Republic of Serbia to establish a monitoring system based on social inclusion indicators and develop integrated social inclusion policies.
The Swiss Confederation is providing support to the Government of the Republic of Serbia to enhance the social inclusion process in the Republic of Serbia through the projects entitled: “Support to Improve Social Inclusion in the Republic of Serbia” (2009–2021) and “Education to Employment – E2E” (2015–2021).
