The Academy of Central European Schools (ACES) issued a call for school/community projects tackling social challenges. School projects provide a concrete framework for combined learning, training, information, action and new encounters. They make learning more engaging, enable experiences of successful participation and civil engagement and promote the development of young people’s competences and skills needed for life and work in the 21st century. Addressing relevant topics and burning issues of their living environment challenges students and teachers to look beyond their own lives and horizons. By taking action together with their partners they achieve meaningful impacts in their communities. In addition, the international experience and exchange at the Academy provides a broader European perspective.
Students and teachers of public schools in the aces – act local partner countries are invited to find local non-school partner(s) and to submit a partnership project proposal with their concrete ideas for community-based cooperation. The call addresses public schools of all types in the eligible countries with a target group of pupils aged 13–17 years.
The working language in aces is English (international communication), but the use of other languages in the local projects is possible.
The topic of the call is “Every person matters. Together for social inclusion”. In order to better respond to burning issues and social challenges in the societies of the region aces – act local is looking for school initiatives that contribute to sustainable social development and strengthen the local civil society. The submitted project proposals have to relate to the mentioned topic. Further details on the theme here.
The call is open from 10 January until 28 February 2017.
