On 7 September, the Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development in charge of digitalization, Saša Stojanović, and the Director of the British Council in Serbia, Clare Sears presented the representatives of 15 elementary schools from Serbia, who became part of the pilot project “21st Century Schools”, with micro:bit devices, which will enable students to master computer programming quickly and easily.
This regional programme, which already includes ten schools from Serbia, is aiming to develop digital and problem-solving skills, as well as critical thinking.
Moreover, this regional programme provides support to capacity building in schools located in the Western Balkans, and enables students to acquire skills and competences essential for providing a positive contribution to the culture and the economy of the 21st century.
This program is implemented in parallel with the general curriculum in order to develop digital and problem-solving skills, as well as critical thinking, which are all essential for young people who want to have a successful career or who want to continue their education.
This programme includes all primary schools throughout the Western Balkans, and it is intended for students ages 10 to 14.
