The AIESEC student organization is organizing a project this summer entitled “Start Your Future” lasting for five weeks. This is the third implementation of this project in Serbia, and this year the project is supported by the Faculty of Economy of the University of Belgrade. The project idea is to raise awareness of secondary school students and students of the fourth through seventh grade of primary schools on informal education and stimulate them to invest in themselves and expand their knowledge and perspectives.
The project implementation was planned during July and August, and the project itself is designed so that during 6 weeks students of primary and secondary schools participate in interactive and educational workshops with students – volunteers from abroad. Through teamwork, the international environment and creative workshops covering key issues, project participants are given an opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills and expand their network of friends.
For primary school students language workshops have been planned aiming to introduce the culture the foreign student volunteer is coming from, as well as to create a desire to learn a new foreign language. Since volunteers are coming from Turkey, Tunisia, Russia and the US, students are given the opportunity to learn languages such as Russian, French, English and Turkish. For secondary school students education is planned primarily in computer literacy and learning soft skills, focused on the practical application of acquired skills. At the end of the project, students will receive certificates on the completed education and acquired skills. This is an ideal opportunity for students of primary and secondary schools who wish to invest in their education and gain additional information on things required for personal and professional development.
