The Center for Social Policy, with the support of NALED, conducted the Analysis of the position of young people at risk, which includes also recommendations for improving their social and economic inclusion. This analysis was prepared within the Strong Youth: Social Inclusion and Economic Sustainability of Youth at Risk project, which is being implemented by the SOS Children’s Villages Foundation Serbia and NALED, in partnership with the German Hermann Gmeiner Foundation. The project aims to improve the employability of young people from socially and economically disadvantaged groups, promote professional training of young people for independent living, and encourage their participation in civil society.
The main goal of this project is the sustainable improvement of the social and economic position of young people between the ages of 16 and 30 from socially and economically disadvantaged groups in Belgrade. The analysis primarily applies to young people leaving foster families and residential care in the territory of the City of Belgrade, as well as to young Roma men and women who live in sub-standard settlements in Zemun.
The analysis provides an overview of the existing support measures within the employment and social security system intended for young people who are leaving the social care system, as well as young Roma men and women. In addition, the analysis also includes assessing the challenges in implementing support measures and the framework for monitoring young people in aftercare, analyzing the elements that influence sustainable socio-economic inclusion, and proposing measures to improve the position of these young people.
