The Autonomous Women Centre developed a mobile phone application “Safe” allowing women to make urgent calls for help to their family, the police, ambulance, social welfare centre or a help line in their city at the moment they are threatened.
The application “Safe“may be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play shop and be installed on the mobile phone. The application allows for entering phone number of persons /protectors whom the user wants to send a text message with an urgent call for help at the moment when she feels threatened. With a single click the protectors receive a text message of a person close to them being in danger and automatic information on her location so they are able to organise help. The application can be connected to a bluetooth bracelet and the call for help may be sent by pressing a button on the bracelet which makes it a lot easier to sent a call for help in dangerous situations.
