Awards for combating discrimination were awarded by the Coalition Against Discrimination at the Belgrade Media Center on 21 April.
The Coalition Against Discrimination established the “Annual Award for Combating Discrimination” as recognition to individuals, organizations, institutions, companies and media who, during a given year, have made the most effort in suppressing discrimination against minority and marginalized groups or contributed to improving the equality of all citizens of Serbia.
The winners of the “Award for Combating Discrimination” for exceptional contributions to combating discrimination in 2014 are:
- Public authority – Department for Public Peace and Order of the Police Administration for the City of Belgrade – Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia
- Civil society organizations – Fund for Humanitarian Right
- Media – Morning program of RT Vojvodina
- Business sector – Mirko Milićević (Dosije studio d.o.o.)
- Public persons – Ljubomir Živkov
The Coalition Against Discrimination is comprised of: Center for Advanced Legal Studies, Civil Rights Defenders, Labris – organization for lesbian human rights, CHRIS – Network of the Human Rights Committee, Association of Students with Disabilities, Gayten LGBT, Praxis and the Regional Center for Minorities.
