Tim za socijalno uključivanje i smanjenje siromaštva

On 23 May, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlović, Ph.D. Professor, signed contracts for the implementation of projects in the field of social housing – assistance to safe houses, with the representatives of the non-governmental sector dealing with these issues.

In the budget of the Ministry for 2017, 10 million RSD was allocated to support the social housing projects.

“This year we decided that the funds should go to organisations which deal with safe houses because we want to strengthen the fight against violence against women and raise it to an even higher level. The aim of this open call was to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions in safe houses for women who are victims of domestic violence, and also to clearly state that we want to put a stop to violence against women” said Mihajlović, who is also the President of the Coordination Body for Gender Equality.

She added that, with the support of the Ministry of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure, 10 safe houses would be reconstructed.
