The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development began forming the Network of Centres for Assistive Technologies in the Republic of Serbia. In late 2013, the equipment for assistive technologies was donated to the first group of six schools for education of pupils with developmental problems and disabilities.
Assistive technologies equipment (AT) is to be used for children with developmental problems and disabilities and allow them an improved access to and quality of education as well as to help them overcome barriers in learning.
The schools that received this equipment are primary schools ”Dušan Dugalić” in Belgrade and ”11. oktobar” in Leskovac, schools for primary and secondary education ”Milan Petrović” from Novi Sad and ”Vidovdan” from Bor, the boarding school for pupils with hearing and speech impairments ”11. maj” from Jagodina and the Primary school for children with hearing impairments Miodrag Matić” from Užice. The equipment will be rented to other schools in line with the needs of children Serbia wide, while monitoring will be performed by the school „Dušan Dugalić” from Belgrade.
