KidHub is calling on all primary school students from I to VI grade to apply for participation in a free-of-charge school DESIGNATHON (design marathon) on the topic “City of the Future”, held this year on 25 May from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Museum of Science and Technology (Dobračina 51), as part of Mikser festival.
Applications are open here until 20 May, and thereafter the organizers will contact the applicants and send them more detailed information on participation in the event.
The school designathon is dedicated to topics structured around a central theme: “Sustainable Development of Cities” (11th goal in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals).
Designathon Works® is an educational programme from the Netherlands prompting children aged 7-13 years towards creative solving of environmental and social challenges using new technologies, with the aim of creating innovative solutions structured around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Children will work in teams of two in this competition, creating their solutions using programming, electrical components and various recycling and creative materials, in cooperation with facilitators from the Designathon Method. After the Designathon, children will present their solutions before an expert jury. The children’s works will be shown as part of the accompanying design exhibition DESIGN EXPO at the Museum of Science and Technology, while the three best team prototypes will be awarded prizes.
