ACES – Academy of Central European Schools is opening a new cycle of competitions for cross-border school projects and student exchange. “Embracing solidarity: We care, dare and share!” – is the theme of this year’s competition for cross-border school projects. For the eighth time, ACES – Academy of Central European Schools invites teachers and students to design and implement new projects, in cooperation with international partners. Project proposals may be sent during the period between 15 January and 15 April 2015. The schools that present the best projects will win valuable cash prizes.
ACES represents a project initiated by the ERSTE Foundation in the field of education, with the initiative coordination entrusted to the Austrian organisation Intercultural Centre and the Slovak association VČELI DOM. This school network has been active since 2006 across Central and South-Eastern Europe, with the primary goal of activity to improve exchange and cultural dialog among youth. The network includes 15 countries of the CEE region, supported by education ministries. Over 25,000 students and 3,600 teachers participated in the ACES programme thus far.
Serbia has been part of this cross-border network of schools since 2007, and thus far 41 schools from our country have participated in the ACES programme. Previous winners in this competition come from Lazarevac, Subotica, Bujanovac and Belgrade.
