The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) has recently published the European Skills Index (ESI) — a new composite index measuring the performance of the skills system of a given country.
Due to this index, for the first time it is possible to assess the relative performance of the skills systems of various European Union member states, contributing considerably to the formulation of public policies related to the acquisition of skills, employment and growth in the EU.
The European Skills Index will provide insight into data on which public policies work and which do not, i.e. which trends shape the skills systems across the European Union.
More on the European Skills Index can be found at skillspanorama.cedefop.europa.eu.
