The closing conference of the EQUIED TEMPUS project “Equal Access for All: Strengthening the Social Dimension Aimed at Improving the European Higher Education Area” was held on 14 April 2015, at the University of Niš, and the results of this three-year project were summarized.
The conference presented the achievements of the pilot programme wherein 50 secondary school students from underrepresented groups in the student population enrolled in faculties across Serbia, the concept of established student support services in Serbian universities, changes in the collection of statistical data on the student population aiming for equal access, a proposal for changes to the legal regulations and the procured assistive technology.
The second part of the conference was used to present self-evaluation and evaluation by international partners, as well as recommendations for establishing an institutional framework for equal access to higher education.
