The Office for Human and Minority Rights issued a call for awarding financial funds to associations registered within the territory of the Republic of Serbia that, through their statute, recognize the improvement and protection of the status of vulnerable social groups, basic principles of human rights, as well as the improvement and protection of the status, human rights and freedoms of LGBTI persons.
The overall goal of the Call is creating an environment that promotes diversity, insists on recognizing equal rights for all, social inclusion of LGBTI persons and respects the democratic principles of a civil society.
The specific objectives of the campaign include:
– Increasing the level of information on issues and challenges of importance for the LGBTI population in Serbia;
– Removing existing prejudice and stereotypes regarding members of the LGBTI population;
– Reducing the stigma and discrimination against the LGBTI population;
– Promotion of basic and other human rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, regardless of individual characteristics, including sexual orientation and gender identity.
