On 15 July Croatia got a Law on Life Partnership which allows same sex couples to enter into lifelong partnerships and other rights but not the to adopt. The Law introduces the institution of lifelong partnership as a form of joint life of the persons of the same sex, while the institution of marriage continues to be limited to heterosexual persons. The associations for protection of human rights and gay associations in Croatia welcomed the Law but noted the persisting discrimination, as homosexual and heterosexual couples have not been fully equalised.
