The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced on 30 June the publishing of the estimated number of citizens of the Republic of Serbia by age, sex and type of settlement for 2015, at the level of regions, areas and cities and municipalities.
The estimated number of citizens in the Republic of Serbia in 2015 is 7,095,383, with 51.3 percent being women (3,649,994), and 48.7 percent men (3,464,399).
The depopulation trend continues, meaning that the coefficient of population growth is negative compared to the previous year, amounting to -5.1 percent.
During the period between the last two population censuses (from 2002 to 2011), the population number has been continuously on the decline, with the trend continuing after the 2011 Census.
