The Association of Businesswomen of Serbia awarded the “Flower of Success for the Dragon Lady of 2015” prize to the best female entrepreneurs in Serbia for the ninth time in a row. The title “Dragon Lady” was awarded this year to 11 entrepreneurs among the 30 nominated from across the country. The prize is always awarded in two basic categories: “Most European Women’s Company” and “Best Model of Women’s Employment”, as well as the sub-category “Self-Employment”.
A special recognition for innovation was received this year by Sonja Dakić, co-owner of the social enterprise “Daj Daj” DOO from Belgrade, producing washable diapers made of bamboo fibre, reusable, healthier for children and cleaner for our planet. They are produced in a small workshop in Belgrade, sewn by women over 50 years of age from failed textile factories.
The goal of the award is the affirmation of successful female entrepreneurs and the visibility of their contribution to the economic development of Serbia. By recognizing those most successful, public attention is directed at the great motive power of women’s entrepreneurship.
