European PROGRES has announced the first Call for Proposals (CfP) to support projects that will be implemented in cooperation between local self-governments and civil society organisations with the aim of economic empowerment of vulnerable groups in South East and South West Serbia. European Union and Swiss Government will support the implementation of these projects with 46 million dinars through the Citizens Involvement Fund (CIF).
All projects need to be anchored in the municipal sustainable development strategies and to support one of the following priorities: employment, poverty reduction and helping social inclusion of vulnerable groups; promotion of intercultural dialogue; raising awareness on migration issues and helping reduce human trafficking.
A maximum of RSD 2.3 million will be provided for individual projects implemented in partnership between civil society organisations and local self-governments. If a minimum of two organisations and two municipalities are included in the partnership, the maximum value of support will be up to RSD 4.6 million. One of the requirements of the CfP is that partnership organisations need to provide co-funding of a minimum of 10% of donor funding. The total value of individual projects must not exceed RSD 4.6 million, i.e. RSD 9.2 million when two organisations and two municipalities are participating.
In the previous years 66 similar projects were successfully implemented through two CIF Calls for Proposals within EU PROGRES, the programme that preceded European PROGRES.
Associations and organisations eligible to participate in this CfP are those registered in at least one of the 34 municipalities participating in the European PROGRES. The projects must be implemented over a maximum of twelve and minimum of six months, i.e. nine months for projects with double partnerships. The CfP is open until 31 October 2014, and application documentation and other information is available onhttp://www.euprogres.org/konkursi.php?oblast=pozivi.
The following 34 local self-governments are participating in the European PROGRES programme: Novi Pazar, Ivanjica, Nova Varoš, Priboj, Prijepolje, Raška, Sjenica and Tutin in Southwest Serbia, and Prokuplje, Blace, Žitorađa, Kuršumlija, Leskovac, Bojnik, Vlasotince, Lebane, Medveđa, Crna Trava, Vranje, Bosilegrad, Bujanovac, Vladičin Han, Preševo, Surdulica, Trgovište, Brus, Aleksinac, Gadžin Han, Doljevac, Merošina, Svrljig, Babušnica, Bela Palanka and Knjaževac in Southeast Serbia.
