The exhibition of photographs of the participants of the “OkO beogradskih ulica” project was opened on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Wednesday, 3 December 2014, at the “Vuk Karadžić” cultural institution. A public discussion about the status of students with disabilities in Belgrade was also held on this occasion.
The goal of the “OkO beogradskih ulica” project is improving the quality of life for people with disabilities, by using photography as a means of communication, through an authentic artistic-documentary approach by the authors of the photos, persons with disabilities forced to use the streets with difficulty. Thus the visibility of the problem is increased directly, without intermediaries, and the obstacles and difficulties in their daily lives are recognized, since the wider community will see the world through their eyes.
The project is implemented with the financial support of Naftna industrija Srbije as part of the drive “Zajednici zajedno” and with the assistance of the Assembly of the City of Belgrade. The project was also supported by Canon Srbija and Rauch Srbija.
