More than 2.81 million of citizens in Serbia use Internet – some 450,000 more than last year, and the number of households with worldwide web connection has increased to 62.8%. However, the gap between the rich and the poor continues to be large and 35% of persons who do not have Internet access at home said that it is far too expensive.
The survey conducted by the Republic Statistical Office showed a very erratic use of Internet and computers, a gap between the rural and urban population, highly educated persons and those with lower levels of education, and higher and lower income households.
