The Employment Council of the City of Belgrade, the Secretariat for Education and Child Protection, the National Employment Service – Belgrade Branch, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Youth Centre of Belgrade have organized the First Belgrade Fair of Secondary Vocational and Art Schools and Professional Orientation. The Fair was held on 5 June 2015, at the Youth Centre of Belgrade.
Students of the final years of primary school and their parents had the opportunity to be introduced, in one place, with secondary vocational and art schools, their educational profiles, teaching subjects, extracurricular activities, as well as to get informed on employment possibilities in certain trades. Graduates of these schools may decide on employment after completing their education, use their excellent mobility to various faculties, while one of the possible options is also work alongside continued education.
The school booths presented the works of students and the programmes of sections.
Psychologists from the National Employment Service provided expert assistance to primary school students deciding on their future trade. In addition to the “Guide for Primary School Students”, the NES booth also provided two new applications – the game “Career Journey” and the newsletter “What to Study, What to Do”, prepared in cooperation with the Institute for the Improvement of Education, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and GIZ. The above applications are also available from the website of NES: www.nsz.gov.rs. Interested students had the opportunity to take part in the workshop “On the Road of Selecting a Trade”, helping them assess their desires, discover their professional interests and get acquainted with ways of making decisions.
