The idea of producing and selling computer software that utilizes solar energy and facilitates movement for persons with disabilities won first place at the regional entrepreneurial skills competition “Business Challenge” for secondary school students, held at Hotel M.
The contest gathered 100 students from 24 secondary schools within the territory of Belgrade, with the winning team comprised of students of the Geodetic Technical School, the Aviation Academy, the Economic School “Nada Dimić”, the European Business School “Milutin Milanković” and the Secondary Tourist School.
Teams comprised of students from various schools designed solutions for problems given to them and created business plans they presented to jury members at the end of the day. Members of the three best teams secured a place in the National Finals, with the winning team to participate at the Western Balkans Business Challenge in Podgorica, in April 2015, along with their peers from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
“Business Challenge” was initiated with the intent to stimulate secondary school students to use their skills in an innovative way to improve their entrepreneurial spirit and increase their employment capabilities. The contest was implemented by the organization Youth Achievement in Serbia with the financial assistance of the US Agency for International Development and the BASF company.
