The first meeting of the Working Group for drafting the guidelines for the development of kinship foster care was held on 4 September 2015 at the City Centre for Social Work in Belgrade. The working group has 11 members consisting of representatives of social work centres and representatives of family accommodation and adoption centres from Novi Sad, Belgrade, Niš and Kragujevac, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, the Republic Institute for Social Protection and the Association of Professional Workers in Social Protection.
During the coming period the working group will be drafting guidelines and proposals for regulatory amendments in the field of kinship foster care to contribute to improving this form of foster care in the Republic of Serbia.
This project activity by the Provincial Institute for Social Protection is being implemented as part of the wider project “Improvement of the Rights of the Child through Strengthening the Judiciary and Social Protection System in Serbia” implemented in partnership by UNICEF, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Issues with financial support by the EU.
