After the successful implementation of the pilot programme of re-qualification for IT, started at the initiative of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić, as well as the second phase of re-qualification, the Government is planning a continuation of this programme that envisages the re-qualification of 775 attendants for IT.
The courses will introduce attendees to the basics of the Java, JavaScript, PHP or .NET framework languages, and provide them with the opportunity to learn about other programming languages and databases necessary to acquire sufficient know-how for employment.
More than 50 IT companies to date have shown interest in employing and hosting practical education for re-qualification attendees.
During the pilot phase of the project 100 attendees completed the training, and over 30 of them have found jobs in programming posts in the IT industry with average salaries of approximately RSD 45,000.
With only this number of employed persons the state’s investments will return to the budget through taxes and contributions within a year. Under the second phase of the project, started in January, trainings last twice as long and practical education is provided for the majority of the 700 attendees.
The pilot programme and second phase have been implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
