The United Nations declared 17 October as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. It has been observed since 1987. On that day, through a number of initiatives, countries are symbolically invited to make efforts to improve the status and living standard of their population.
The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit marks this day through a special edition of the magazine “Lice ulice” dedicated to the topic of social inclusion. It can be purchased from street vendors, thereby supporting their economic independence and social inclusion.
On the same occasion, the Unit will organize Ignite on social inclusion on Monday 21 October, at 20 p.m. in the Mixer House facility.
Ignite is part of the global movement to hold fast-paced and concise presentations that inspire and present new ideas to the audience in an informal setting. Translation into sign language will be provided, and Mixer House is easily accessible.
