The film on the implementation of the Poverty Reduction Strategy for Serbia (PRS) provides a brief overview of the implementation of the document in the period between 2003 2009. It contains some of the experiences, good practices and recommendations from the period of the implementation of activities and measures envisaged by the Strategy.
The Poverty Reduction Strategy represents a medium-term development framework targeting the eradication of key poverty forms. The PRS is a national document developed in 2003 and contains an analysis of causes, characteristics and poverty profiles in Serbia, as well as the main strategic guidelines for economic development and poverty reduction. Activities envisaged by the Poverty Reduction Strategy aim at economic development and growth, prevention of new poverty due to economic restructuring and care of the traditionally poor groups.
The PRS implementation process formally ended in 2009, and the Government is developing new measures for transferring from the poverty reduction concept to the social inclusion concept, which is envisaged by the European integrations process as one of the three main pillars for achieving social cohesion in the European Union.
