On 30 November this year, the Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government of the Government of Serbia Branko Ružić adopted a Decision on the National Minorities Budget Fund allocations for funding programmes and projects in the field of information in national minority languages in 2017.

Funds in the amount of RSD 1,800,000 will be granted to 25 applicant programmes and projects for the implementation of programmes and projects in the field of information in national minority languages, as the priority funding areas proposed by the National Minority Council.

Ružić assessed that the Budget Fund allocations in 2017 are very limited, but that it a great step forward that the Ministry has started the procedure for the disbursement of allocations and the operationalization of the Fund.

According to the press release of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Government the amount envisaged for this purpose was significantly increased in the Draft Law on Budget for 2018 – by 12 times, to RSD 21.8 million.
