The new Fundamentals of the Curriculum of Preschool Education, aimed at the comprehensive development and welfare of the child through an integrated approach to learning, connecting play and other activities, and the development of meaningful relationships with peers and adults in an inspiring space, have been presented on 31 October in Belgrade.
The Rulebook on the fundamentals of the preschool education curriculum envisages the introduction of the new curriculum into preschool institutions in a successive manner as of September 2019.

“The implementation of important project initiatives in this field will ensure support in the domain of improving the initial education of teachers and the system for their professional development and promotion – trainings for teachers, professional associates and principals of preschool institutions. The improvement of the system for data collection and monitoring of preschool education is also planned, along with further improvements to the system of evaluation of the quality of preschool institutions”, said the Minister.

The Assistant Minister for Preschool and Primary Education Vesna Nedeljković said that the new rulebook defines the concept of preschool education in accordance with contemporary theoretical approaches in this field, relevant educational policy documents, examples of good practices in our country and worldwide, and values based on the longstanding tradition of preschool education in Serbia.
