The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Administration Kori Udovički said on 27 May in Zrenjanin that the new Law on General Administrative Procedure (LGAP) is setting the relationship between citizens and the state upon new foundations.
The full application of the law will begin in 2017, but the provision whereby the administration may not request citizens to submit data already held in its records will be coming into force as early as 8 June. Udovički noted that as of that date the administrations should be required to act differently, adding that she expects, although she is aware that not everyone will be ready for all cases, that all local self-governments will start reducing the requirements for unnecessary paperwork.
The new LGAP will not only result in the simplification of procedures, but also savings.
