Suzana Paunović, PhD, Acting Director of the Office for Human and Minority Rights, and Michel Saint-Lot, United Nations Children’s Fund Representative in Serbia signed a two-year Memorandum of Understanding on November 17.
The aim of cooperation is to support the work of the Council for Monitoring the Implementation of the Recommendations of the UN Human Rights Mechanisms through greater involvement of civil society in the process.
Paunović emphasized the importance of UNICEF’s support to the Office for Human and Minority Rights in its efforts to fully implement existing laws defining the rights of children, as well as to develop new models of support to children and families with children.
Michel Saint-Lot stressed that the common goal of UNICEF and the Government of the Republic of Serbia was to ensure that every child in Serbia should exercise his/her rights and that UNICEF would continue to support the Government’s activities towards this goal.
