The media conference regarding the start of the campaign “PA in the Centre of Attention” was held on 20 April 2017. The European Movement in Serbia and the Centre for European Policy presented the preliminary results of a survey on satisfaction with public services and enabled a discussion on the findings with representatives of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of the Interior. The portal www.mojauprava.rs was presented at the conference.
Based on the public survey of citizens regarding satisfaction with public services of the administrative service of the policy and in primary healthcare, we may draw the conclusion that citizen satisfaction is higher than dissatisfaction. However, the majority of citizens believe certain things in the existing system need to be changed. Regarding the administrative service of the police, poor work organization was recognized as the main problem, while waiting and lines are the most frequent problem in the functioning of health centres.
The campaign is part of a two-year project “Partnership for Good Public Administration”. The goal of the project is to contribute to creating and implementing citizen-oriented policy in the field of public administration reform, and improving responsibility among competent institutions and the Government for the quality of services provided for citizens.
The results of all project activities will be contained in the Grey Paper of Public Services that will present the key conclusion and recommendations for competent state bodies and institutions. The results of the project will be presented to the Government, the ministry competent for public administration as the bearer of the process of public administration reform, as well as other institutions relevant for the implementation of public administration reform and the provision of services to citizens, particularly to the Ministry of Health, Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
The project is being implemented by the European Movement in Serbia (EPuS) and the Centre for European Policy (CEP), with the support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), in cooperation with another 12 partner organizations from various towns and municipalities in Serbia.
