The promotion of the Indicators for Development platform, implemented by the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, was held on 19 January 2016 in Belgrade. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Democracy for Development Institute, supported through a grant by the Open Society Foundation, in cooperation with the Think Tank Fund of the Open Society Foundation.
The goal of the platform is stimulating competition among Western Balkans countries, aimed at the improved performance of government and public administration bodies. Collecting data in the form of standardized indicators for the six communities in the region will provide a comparative review of their performance, thus encouraging political leaders to implement deeper and faster reforms and accelerate the European integration process.
The platform contains a selection of diverse statistical data, sorted into four large categories: economy, governance, security and rule of law, and social development. Data is collected for over 200 different individual indicators, for the period 2008-2015. All values are accessible through an online platform and various views of these values are possible (tables, graphics, etc.) as well as comparisons of various communities in the Western Balkans.
The platform is accessible at: ind4dev.scards.com.
