The Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Đorđević opened the first regional Western Balkans conference “Initiative for the social dimension of EU integration”, emphasizing that the region is highly oriented towards the European path and wishes to become part of the great European family of equal peoples as soon as possible.
The joint Declaration on improving social policy in the Western Balkans was signed during the event.

All Western Balkans countries face similar problems, and thus we must do more together for our citizens. Serbia’s EU accession process is a strategic goal for our country and one of the key pillars of its foreign policy. The future of Serbia in the European Union is a reality we believe in, and accordingly we are working intensively on reforms of the social welfare system, said Đorđević.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the German humanitarian organization ASB and Mr Fleckenstein, the Minister for European Integration, and the European Union on their support.
