Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Croatia, Republic of Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia launched an information campaign about the Regional Housing Programme (RHP) in Belgrade on 6 March. RHP is a joint multiannual programme aimed to provide durable housing solutions for some 27,000 most vulnerable refugee families from 1991-1995 conflict in the region: 5,400 families in BiH, 1,177 families in Montenegro, 3.541 families in Croatia and 16,780 families in Serbia.
The Donor Conference held in Sarajevo in April 2012, raised EUR 264 million for RHP implementation. The major part – EUR 234 million – was provided by the EU. US Government donated USD 10 million with continuation of funding in future. The remaining funds were ensured by bilateral donors.
The RHP will be implemented by the Republican Commissioner for Refugees and Migration and the local governments. UNHCR and OSCE will monitor the process of beneficiary selection and programme implementation in partner countries. The RHP Fund will be managed by the CEB.
