The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Report on the Implementation of the Economic and Social Policy Reform Programme under the EU Accession Process (for 2016 and 2017) on 3 May 2019.
The Republic of Serbia has defined active participation in the European process of social inclusion as one of the important tasks under the European Union accession process. This process involves the development of employment policies, social and child protection, the development and harmonization of labour law with the EU acquis, harmonization of the principle of social dialogue and collective negotiation with European standards in these fields, the adaptation of the system of pension and disability insurance, promotion of the prohibition of discrimination, i.e. the harmonization of all relevant policies in the domain of social policy, labour and employment with relevant European Union policies.
As an instrument for the coordination of the policies of the Republic of Serbia with the policies and strategies of the European Union, the European Commission presented the concept of drafting a strategic document for the field of social policy, social inclusion and employment policy “Employment and Social Policy Reform Programme under the process of accession to the European Union (Employment and Social Policy Reform Programme – ESRP)”.
The Government of Serbia adopted the Employment and Social Policy Reform Programme (ESRP) in 2015. In accordance with an agreement with the European Commission and discussions during the Committee for monitoring the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement, it was agreed that the first Report on the Implementation of the ESRP will cover the period 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2017.
