The results of the research on the economic activity in civil society were presented on November 10 in the Human Rights House.
With support of the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society, the research was carried out by Civic Initiatives, as TACSO Resource Centre for all civil society organizations in Serbia. The research aimed to gain insight into the actual situation and needs of the Serbian civil society segment with registered business activities, in order to enable a more successful performance of their business operations. Furthermore, it highlighted key shortcomings in the legal framework and practice regarding social entrepreneurship and offered recommendations for their improvement.
The sample consisted of more than 700 CSO’s (associations, endowments and foundations) registered for business activities, which answered questions regarding their financial capacities and stability of their organization (ways of financing, number of employees) and the impacts of business activity on their performance (incentives and obstacles to business activities; main beneficiaries of the goods/services provided through their business activity; price calculation method and promotion).
