For the tenth time, the Statistical Office of Serbia implemented two surveys on the use of information-communication technologies. The first is in regards to households and individuals, and the second encompassed companies. The surveys were implemented in accordance with Eurostat methodologies, within the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
A total of 64.4% of the households owns a computer, with most households owning one computer (84.5%), while considerably fewer have two computers (11.3%). The gap between urban and rural households owning a computer is considerable: 71.1% vs. 53.9%. The greatest gap regarding computer prevalence in households is according to monthly income: households with over EUR 600 – 88.4%, under EUR 300 – 47.9%.
The results of the survey indicate that 100% of the companies within the territory of the Republic of Serbia use a computer in their work. Within the territory of the Republic of Serbia 94.5% of companies use electronic public administration services, representing an increase of 2.5% compared to 2014, and 6.9% compared to 2013. The option is not used by 5.5% of the companies. Although the results show that 75.2% of the companies have a website, there are differences based on the territorial unit: in Belgrade, websites are run by 83.3% of the companies, in Vojvodina 71.5%, while in Central Serbia 69.1%.
