The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development (MESTD), in cooperation with the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia (SIPRU) published an award competition entitled “Visualization of MESTD Open Data”.
The goal of the competition was to increase interest among students in programming, to stimulate secondary schools to develop work with interested students, as well as to promote the concept of open data.
Three secondary school programming teams applied for the competition, producing visualizations of various datasets (or combinations of datasets) from the MESTD information system available at the MESTD open data portal.
Competition Awards and Prizes
The commission for reviewing the works and deciding on prizes stated that all the received projects meet the conditions and successfully respond to the competition tasks.
The decision of the Commission is for all participants to receive awards from MESTD and SIPRU for their participation in the Competition, as well as symbolic prizes in the form of books on programming, while the schools of all three teams will each receive one set of the ARDUINO development system. The prizes are provided by the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia (SIPRU).

- School Centre “Nikola Tesla” – Vršac
- POLITEHNIKA – School for New Technologies – Belgrade
- Computer Science Gymnasium, Mathematics Gymnasium – Belgrade
The award and prize ceremony will be held at a date subsequently decided upon, during the first half of July 2016.
