The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit within the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and the European Commission are organising a seminar titled Social Inclusion Seminar: Roma Issues in Serbia, to be held on 18 June 2013. The seminar will build on the implementation of the operational conclusions of the joint Serbia–EC seminar held in 2011; it will also provide an opportunity to review the results and present the priorities and plans for further improving the Roma status in the Republic of Serbia through social inclusion.
Since the adoption of the EU Framework for National Roma Integration Strategies in 2010, the issues of Roma social inclusion and poverty reduction have been prioritised by all EU member states, as well as accession countries.
The seminar will be attended by representatives of the National Assembly, the Government, the Roma National Minority Council, local governments, civil society organisations, international organisations and the European Commission.
