The Republic of Serbia, as part of the Creative Europe programme, acceded to the subprogramme Media, thereby opening the possibility for accelerated development of the entire domestic audio-visual and multimedia sector, as well as the more successful positioning of organizations and individuals from Serbia on the international scene.
Thus Serbia is, along with the earlier accession to the Culture subprogram, the first country outside the European Union to complete full participation in the Creative Europe programme and achieve access to the fund with a total value of EUR 1.46 billion.
The fund of the Media subprogramme disposes of over EUR 800 million intended for support to film and television production, expanding the network of cinemas, the quality of film festivals, the development of video games and the professional development of individuals.
Participation in the Media subprogramme will also impact the development of new professions, increased employment in culture and strengthening communication with new audiences.
The goal of the Media subprogramme is developing a joint European market and stimulating the competitiveness of European culture on the global market. As part of this subprogramme, creators from Serbia will be able to place their works worldwide.
