State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Tanja Matić stated that investing in ICT infrastructure had been the biggest challenge for the digital transformation in the country.
On 25 June, at the ministerial panel held on the occasion of the launch of the Digital Agenda for the Western Balkans, at the Digital Assembly in Sofia, Matić welcomed the platform which included Serbia.
Digitalisation was set as a priority within the programme of the Serbian Government, Matić reminded and highlighted that Serbia had an excellent legal framework for digital integration. According to her, the Strategy for Development of Networks of New Generation, as well as the Electronic Communications Law were fully prepared and in line with the EU Digital Single Market Strategy.
Furthermore, she added that the regulatory framework for cybersecurity had been adopted – the law and the strategy, as well as the new Law on Electronic Identification, Electronic Signature, and Entrusted Services in Electronic Business, which would not only improve e-business, but also e-government.
