During 2015, the European Union supported 35 international youth projects in Serbia within the youth part of the Erasmus+ programme totalling 1,525,686.6 Euros.
In 2015, a total of 320 projects were sent from the Balkans during the first and second round of calls for key action 2projects. The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency from Brussels that manages the implementation of the Erasmus+ “Youth in Action” programme has supported 66 projects throughout the Balkans, of which 35 in Serbia, as much as 58% of all approved projects. A large number of projects from Serbia represent a high quality of project proposals, making Serbia the most successful Balkan country in the youth component of the Erasmus+ programme for the year 2015.
Due to the funds granted to Serbia, 35 international youth initiatives will be realised in the next two years within the field of intercultural learning, sports, employment, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, media, rural development and youth employment.
Serbia will end 2015 as the most proactive country from the Balkans with 36 accredited organizations and Youth offices for participation in the European Volunteering Service. Through theEuropean Volunteering Service, young people from Serbia can live, study and volunteer in 33 European countries while young people from abroad can stay in Serbia for a maximum of 12 months.
