On 24 November, the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić opened the first meeting of the Ministerial Team for the Prevention of Peer Violence, which was established based on the proposal given by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
The primary task of this Ministerial Team is to analyse the existing legal solutions concerning prevention and intervention in cases of violence in schools, as well as to establish the necessary coordination and exchange of information between schools, police, judiciary, and centres for social work.
Prime Minister Brnabić stated that the next step was to form an inter-ministerial working body which would deal with the analysis of legal solutions and regulation of procedures, and added that particular emphasis would be on the prevention of digital violence, which was recognised as one of the forms of peer violence.
The members of the Ministerial Team are: the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Mladen Šarčević, the Minister of Interior Nebojša Stefanović, the Minister of Justice Nela Kuburović, the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Đorđević, the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication Rasim Ljajić, and the Minister of Youth and Sport Vanja Udovičić.
