Eurofound will implement its sixth European Working Conditions Survey in 2015 (IURE – EWCS).
In cooperation with the company Ipsos, Eurofound will survey over 43,000 workers in 35 European countries during the sixth wave of surveying. Direct interviews will be held in people’s homes and encompass a wide range of questions on the working conditions of a given individual. All data collected will be considered highly confidential, and the anonymity of all respondents is guaranteed. The target group of this survey are employed persons selected randomly from a statistical sample encompassing a cross-section of society numbering 1,000 to 3,300 persons in every country.
The survey examines issues regarding quality of work and provides information on a number of subjects: on exposure to physical and psychosocial risks, length and organization of worktime, status of employment, labour contract, workplace, work organization, harmonization between work and private life and mixing of work and private life, trainings and workplace learning, worker votes in the workplace, health and welfare, as well as earnings. This sixth wave of survey will provide insight into the diversity of trends in workplaces in Europe during the previous 25 years.
The sixth survey encompasses 35 countries – 28 European Union member states, five European Union candidate states, as well as Switzerland and Norway, making this wave the most all-encompassing up to date regarding the number of countries included. The first results of the sixth European Working Conditions Survey will be available before the end of 2015.
